Jn 3:5Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Jn 3:6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Praise the Lord we have received the Lord Jesus and He is now living in us! But where in our being did we receive this wonderful divine birth? I received the Lord when I was 9 but I have always wondered where He dwells in me.
According to John 3:6, it is in our human spirit. Just as we need our eyes to see colors and ears to hear the sound, we have a specific organ to receive God and contact Him – our human spirit. According to 1 Thes. 5:23, man is made of three parts:
1Th 5:23And the God of peace Himself sanctify you wholly, and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Praise the Lord! Our human spirit is the key for us to realize all the riches of Christ to live a normal Christian life. It is not only because the Bible says so, but we have a witness in the depths of our being who testifies we are children of God possessing the divine life. Hallelujah! “The Spirit Himself witnesses with our spirit that we are children of God.” (Romans 8:16)
How do we enjoy Christ in our spirit? In Colossians 3:16, we see there are several ways, such as reading and musing on His Word, praying, and singing praises. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God.” In so doing, we can be filled in spirit and enjoy the Lord no matter where we are. The apostle Paul admonishes us in Ephesians 5:18, “And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissoluteness, but be filled in spirit.”
Praise the Lord we can experience our Lord Jesus and be filled with all that He is in our spirit!
